Job Summary:
The inventory specialist will ensure that all inventory items are properly identified, readily accessible, and locations are kept up to date in accordance with the organization’s inventory cycle. The ideal Inventory Specialist at Truong Enterprises, Inc. should possess a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive mindset, with a strong sense of ownership over inventory management processes with the ability to execute and follow through with daily tasks. Given the fast-paced nature of the role and the focus on accuracy, this person must be highly analytical, capable of identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently. The role requires someone who is not only dependable in their individual tasks but also works collaboratively with the purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- 1. Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
- 2. Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and item numbers.
- 3. Locates items that may have incorrect locations or item numbers to assist order processors.
- 4. Communicates with Purchasing Department as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
- 5. Manages expired items as needed as well as informs purchasing and sales of upcoming expirations.
- 6. Leads purchasing team monthly meetings regarding highlighted items with long or short inventory concerns.
- 7. Ensures milestones and goals are met.
- 8. Performs and assists with general maintenance of products and shelves of warehouse.
- 9. Operates forklift/rider as needed.
- 10. Assist in training Inventory Control staff.
- 11. Collaborates with peers on the job assignments and inventory control activities.
- 12. Performs additional related duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 2. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- 3. Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
- 4. At least two years of experience in a related area required.
- 5. Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- 6. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and over 50lbs with assistance.
- 7. Ability to lift and carry waist, shoulder, and overhead high.
- 8. Ability to work in a cold and hot environment.
- 9. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for the duration of the work shift.
